What is trance?

The first principle of Cognitive Hypnotherapy is that trance is an everyday occurrence. Remember daydreaming in that boring work meeting or being so absorbed in a TV program that you fail to notice the children painting granny?

 

These are examples of being in a trance state and as adults, we are guided by old and in many cases, now inappropriate programmes by our internal auto-pilot stored in the unconscious mind.

 

All of our memories are stored in our unconscious mind and it’s the unconscious mind that runs all our automatic behaviours.
